Painted Yatzy is a variation of the classic game of Yatzy. But Painted has an extra dimension to it, which makes playing completely different. The dice do not just have a number of “eyes” on them as normal dice do, they also have a colour, which can be red, green, blue, purple or yellow.
So when you play Painted Yatzy, you must keep tabs on both the number of eyes and the colour.
An example: You threw a red 1, a green 2, a blue 3, a purple 4 and a yellow 5. The numbers tell you that you’ve got a straight (1 2 3 4 & 5), but since you also threw one in each colour this means that you have a “rainbow” too; you must now choose which combination is better for you.
Painted Yatzy challenges you in a new way, you need to pay great attention, and you must be careful not to throw away a good combination. You will have exactly as much fun playing this game as you would playing classic Yatzy. So fear not, just play!
